Scotland 2012 - Day 8 / Glasgow

Today was the first "real" rainy day. It has rained quite a bit all week, but only in tiny 10-minute increments. Lots of blue-sky-sun-showers all week... but not today!!! Rain all day.

So, because of the weather it was an indoor-activity day.

We had a lazy morning, and then headed out to the Riverside Museum. A transportation museum, some of the items on display reminded me of what I saw in the automobile museum in Torino. My husband really enjoyed it, too bad he missed out on the other one!! He would have loved it.

For lunch, we went to Jamie Oliver's Restaurant: "Jamie's Italian". Delicious. We took our time and lingered over a bottle of wine.

After lunch, we went to The People's Palace - a museum of social history telling the story of the city from 1750 to the present. We had a nice time.

Because we were rained-out today, we confirmed that we won't go to Edinburg tomorrow; our last full vacation day. The rain is supposed to end overnight, so we'll stay here in Glasgow and have a sunny day to see the sights properly instead of peaking out from under our rain-hoods!! (because of that, we also did not take many pictures today).

After a day of walking in the rain, our shoes and socks are pretty wet! We decided to stay dry and have super at the pub in the hotel tonight. The menu looks pretty good, and no umbrellas required!!

Here's a look at my lunch, I think my pasta looks like octopus!! Don't you?
