Today was an "easy" day, we planned to spend it in Bern. We took our time in the morning (which means up around 7:30 with no alarms set), had a leisurely breakfast, and took whatever train was next to get us there.
On the way, I got a message from my cousin Nick and he asked what we had planned for the day. We said Bern, and wouldn't you know - he lives in Bern and just happen to have the day off! We made plans to meet for lunch.
Bern is a beautiful place, but unfortunately I was there on garbage / recycling day before all the trash was picked up so I had to be creative with angles in the pictures. I didn't take that many this visit since I have so many from previous trips and Bern never changes. Always delightful.
Seeing my cousin again after all this time was such a joy! He's all grown up and married now... boy does time sure fly. There is about a 17 year age difference between us and I always remember him as a baby when I stayed with his family as a teenager.
After lunch, we strolled around for a bit, stopped off for another drink and then parted ways around 3:30 or so. It was great!
Frank and I decided to stay in town for supper, and we found a place that served raclette which didn't come already pre-melted from the kitchen. I much prefer the Melt-it-Yourself approach.
